About us
Casa Poli since 2007
Our Casa Poli story
From passion to pleasure: what began in 2007 with an idea and a handful of carefully selected products is now a story full of taste, dedication and curiosity.
Our instinct, our sense for quality and our passion helped us find the right products from the very beginning. The products that started it all are still part of our range today; two of them are even among our top 10: Grappa Castagno and Grappa Rabosina.
The beginnings
At first, everything revolved around grappa. Step by step, we explored this fascinating world, soon organised our first tastings and invited guests to our restaurant at Strandbad Auslikon. What began as an experiment became a success: visitors were happy to be chauffeured to experience Italy's diversity in a glass. That made one thing clear to us: it is not the location that matters most, but the quality of what you offer.
Building the foundation
With the founding of Casa Grappa GmbH and the takeover of CVD Christen Vini e Distillati, we laid the foundation for further growth in 2013. New storage space in Wetzikon created room to develop. In 2015 we gave up the kiosk to focus fully on enjoyment. In Bäretswil we found our new home with office, warehouse and, from 2016, our first shop.
New paths
In 2017, our path led us to South Tyrol and Distilleria Psenner. Their Honey Williams convinced us immediately and became the beginning of a successful partnership that continues today. On 16 June 2020, Casa Grappa GmbH became Casa Poli GmbH. With this new name, we opened our house to the whole world of pleasure: spirits, wine, fine food and special delicacies.
Growth and knowledge
Our vinotheque received a new look in 2021. With a brighter atmosphere, more space and an open tasting area, it became a place where discovery and enjoyment take centre stage. In 2022, a viticulture course in Wädenswil followed, so we could understand wine from the ground up, not only sell it.
Quality and variety
During these years, we placed even more focus on quality. Psenner's grappas, especially the Gold Williams Riserva Fassgereift with 94 Falstaff points, delighted enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. At the same time, our fine-food range grew with selected Italian and Spanish specialities.
Anniversary and new horizons
Together with Rolf Knie, we celebrated the 10th anniversary edition of the Panettone Rolf Knie. At the same time, we discovered new producers in the delicatessen field: fine pasta, aromatic sughi, noble aceti and extra virgin olive oil have enriched our range ever since. Casa Poli stands for passion, quality, curiosity and the joy of genuine pleasure.
New delights
Before Easter, we tried something new: for the first time, we added the Colomba, the Easter counterpart to Panettone, to our range. It was a success — our customers appreciated this traditional Italian Easter cake from the very start. The exceptionally hot summer called for new ideas: we opened our range to alcohol-free enjoyment — mocktails, the Sicilian Amaro Liborio, an alcohol-free Mojito and Hugo found their way to our guests.
See you soon in our vinotheque.
