Today it was that time again: Two pallets from Italy arrived at our facility. Unpacked by hand, carefully checked, and straight onto the shelf – the Amaro Liborio is new at Casa Poli. With it comes a little piece of Sicilian lifestyle that is completely alcohol-free.
What is Amaro Liborio?
Amaro Liborio is the alcohol-free Amaro, which is made from Sicilian fruits and herbs, developed by the Sicilian manufacturer Etnèco. It brings together everything that makes a classic Italian Amaro: the fine bitterness, the aromatic blend of herbs, and that typical Mediterranean character. Only without the alcohol.
At its core are Sicilian ingredients: bitter almonds, blonde Etna oranges and the delicate, floral notes of Zagara, the orange blossom, plus an elegant, earthy bitter note. The botanicals are – just like with traditional Amaro – first steeped, then the alcohol is gently removed again. The result is a mahogany-red shimmering drink that retains the full Amaro flavor.
New: Amaro Liborio Black 0 – refined in barrique
A special highlight of this delivery is the Amaro Liborio Black 0. This variant matures in barrique and as a result is deeper, darker, and rounder in taste – with more structure and a fine woody note. Anyone who prefers something a bit more complex and intense will find their go-to alcohol-free favorite here for the evening.
How to enjoy Amaro Liborio
Amaro Liborio is wonderfully versatile – as an aperitivo before eating, as a digestivo after:
- As an aperitivo: poured over ice with tonic or soda, plus an orange slice.
- Neat as a digestivo: well chilled, on one or two ice cubes.
- As an alcohol-free spritz: with alcohol-free sparkling wine and a splash of soda.
- Liborio Sour: shaken with lemon and a bit of sugar syrup to make an elegant alcohol-free cocktail.
A storage tip: After opening, store in the refrigerator and enjoy best within six months.
